Zoom UAC-2 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Audio Converter - 2 Channel. Zoom UAC-2 Two-Channel USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Audio Interface for Mac and PC. The bus-powered UAC-2 adds two channels of 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution audio to any USB 2.0 or 3.0-equipped Windows or Mac computer-even to your.

This is a very underrated product Not sure if this will be posted as a review specific to the open box zoom UAC-2 but really just want to say how awesome the zoom has been. We have had it for several months now, enough time to know whats up. I have read people talk about crazy low latency but i firmly believe that reported latency is far from the whole story.even go as far as saying that software reported latency (such as aiso4all) is meaningless.

See, we have an hp 360 i5 intel skylake which allowed low low 64 sample buffers in iso4all.reporting something like 3ms latency. Yeah, an amassing result.right? It is a lot more complicated, apparently as i have found out. We use vst with edrums. With such low latency, shouldnt be a problem for real time vst at all. But it proved difficult. There were fluctuations which made timing a mess.

Adjust playing for the latency but then hits would randomly be delayed, just unpredictable. With real time vst there is the input thru usb latency and the output latency which aiso4all had reported very impressively. But timing using asio4all or any onboard sound card is not consistent even at forced low latency. For real time vst and especially edrums.this is very obvious. Zoom UAC-2- I wasnt sure but i started thinking real time vst edrums may not ever be as tight or enjoyable as i wanted. We needed edrums for practice because of our location and the close proximity of neighbors.

I bought the zoom not expecting much but the difference. With a laptop and without firewire, didnt have high hopes for a usb interface. BUT I WAS SURPRISED With the zoom, maybe it is the USB3 idk.but its a different world I can not only play without any fluctuation, its fluid and there is no effort for me trying to adjust playing with latency. I am very sensitive to latency and i can feel tiny amounts when drumming. The zoom feels worlds difference and is pleasant to play with. Even at 64 samples, where aiso4all allowed on my laptop.

The zoom feels astronomically better. The numbers reported dont tell you much. So, where i struggled with just playing live vst edrums with a band before. Now I can play edrums with vst output while recording in cubase in real time. This was completely something i would laugh at before. But it is true. No more having to listen to the crappy edrum module to avoid latency in recording.

Hearing the edrum vst play back in real time while recording at the same time when before it was inconsistent just playing live vst drums. Worlds of difference.
